Data Retention

- Account & Profile Information: Retained while your account is active. Permanently deleted within 30 days of a confirmed account deletion request.
- Health Records & Medical Documents: Retained while your account is active and for up to 7 years after account closure, as required by applicable Indian healthcare regulations (National Medical Commission guidelines and the Information Technology Act).
- Health Tracker Data (steps, sleep, vitals, medications, diet): Deleted within 30 days of account deletion. Active-account data older than 5 years may be purged automatically.
- Transaction & Payment Records: Retained for 8 years from the date of transaction, as required by Indian tax and GST regulations.
- Device & Usage Logs: Retained on a rolling basis for 90 days for security and debugging purposes.
- Backup Copies: Purged within 90 days of the corresponding data being deleted.
- Anonymized & Aggregated Data: Non-identifiable statistical data may be retained indefinitely for service improvement. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.
Data Deletion
You have the right to request permanent deletion of your personal data at any time. You can do this through either of the following methods:
Option 1: Through the App
- Open the Dharani Hospital app
- Go to Settings
- Tap "Delete Account"
- Confirm your decision when prompted
- Your account will be deactivated immediately and all personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days
Option 2: Via Email Request
Send a deletion request to contact@rootlynk.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include your registered phone number and full name. We will acknowledge your request within 24 hours and complete deletion within 30 days.
What Happens After Deletion
- Your account is deactivated immediately upon confirmation
- Personal data, health records, and app data are permanently deleted within 30 days
- Backup copies are purged within 90 days
- Certain records (transaction history, legally required medical records) may be retained for the periods specified in the Data Retention section above
- Deletion is permanent and irreversible — data cannot be recovered once deleted

Your Rights

Children's Privacy
Dharani Hospital is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Minor patients' accounts should be managed by their parent or legal guardian.
